There are no limitations to our EcuTek calibrations. We are able to set up flex fuel, boost by gear, launch control, and just about any custom request! Price adjustments will be made depending on the quantity or complexity of custom requests.

INSTRUCTIONS: 

Pre-tuning inspection:

Confirm the engine has the appropriate type and amount of oil! Full synthetic 10W-30 is recommended at a minimum. Thicker race oils are also welcomed. Confirm that all critical sensors and solenoids are functioning as intended (no CEL's is a good sign that you're ok). Confirm that the spark plugs are in good operating condition, there is no oil in the spark plugs tube, and that the plug gap is appropriate for the setup.

Spark plug general guide:

NA VQ's - Use stock plugs with a gap of 0.028in 

Boosted stock VQ's - Use stock or GTR spark plugs gapped to 0.022in

Built motor high boost VQ's - use GTR spark plugs gapped to 0.019in

Lastly, confirm all intake hoses or boost hoses are tight. Insure there are no critical vacuum leaks or fluid leaks of any kinds. And of course, make sure that you have the right parts to meet your goals! Consultations and parts ordering is available and strongly recommended.

INITIAL DATA LOGS after engine is at operating temp:

5s of idle

10-15s of normal driving

1 AND ONLY 1 wide open throttle pull! The base calibration is not always perfect first try which is why its important to limit the number of WOT pulls on the initial calibration!

It can be difficult to have a project assembled perfectly first try and cover every little detail. Should anything stand out in the data, it's important that we communicate effectively to resolve any issues for the sake of moving forward. Should any issues drastically increase tuning time, you may be subject to an additional charge for diagnostics.

For boosted VQ's, you will need to watch AFR during the first boosted pull. I will implement safeties to prevent an engine failure in event of an over-boost condition. However, you will be responsible to verifying the AFR is no HIGHER than 11.9 while in boost.

EX: 12.5 AFR means you need to abort the pull and send the data. For 10.8AFR, you are good to continue the pull until 7000rpm.

Submit these to VPF Manufacturing LLC via the EcuTek app once you are ready to commit to a tuning session. This can take as long as a couple hours or be spread out over a few days. In either case, perform data acquisition as instructed via email or through the EcuTek notes.

A failure to follow instructions could result in damage to the engine. Once the final data set is verified as good, I will send a final email saying the tune is complete and THEN you are free to drive the car how ever you wish!

The vehicle to be tuned must be properly maintained for us to properly complete the calibration! This includes but is not limited to: Oil changes, spark plugs, correctly functioning sensors and solenoids, correctly installed modifications, etc. The list on what to check can become extremely long with more complex projects. In those cases, I prefer to build the car myself to avoid any unnecessary time losses and/or expenses.
